Frank,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, but work,work work, family
comes first.  I was able to open it in PDF and it is a BEAUTY!!!!
he amount of time you put in on this banner is evident. Many of the aircraft
listed were on board the FDR in 65-67.  I remember standing bridge watches
and being impressed every time one launched.  Even after 2 years. I can still
see the squadron logos on the side today.I'm going to copy Al this email as he
was asking if I could open it now, so I don't want put a dent in his vacation
having to wonder about it.
Thank you very much for all your hard work.

Thanks Al,

I appreciate you calling to let me know that you have received my check. I don’t believe a fellow could belong to a better organization that give more personal service such as you have. Al you have really worked hard to get Squadrons & Shipmates going and your still working hard. I hope and pray that the proper people get in the right positions to carry on the Squadrons & Shipmates organization.  The people can’t be on and off like myself, it takes dedication and work.

Thanks again,

Al, thank you for passing on this group photo.  I would like to take a moment to express my gratitude to you for all of the time and effort that you and the board had put into this reunion.  I can only imagine that your next one will be just as adventurous for those who attend.  I do hope that your membership list continues to grow and that you are able to continue to reach out to more squadrons and shipmates.  Hopefully those who attended will remember to tell that "one more pal" about it for next year.

Our whole family had a great time and it was nice to meet so many people who risked their lives and lost so many loved ones to protect my freedom.

           We all had buddies or pals that we socialized with while we were in the service. This is now the time to come together and renew all those friendships and relive the memories that we have often thought about over the years. Now you have an organization that will help you find those lost friends so you can once again enjoy their company.

           After reading through the web site, we hope you would agree that Squadrons and Shipmates of FDR-Midway Inc. has a lot to offer including:

  • Reasonable dues. In addition, Charter Members will enjoy a large discount in all the years to come;
  • Encouraging families to participate along with the veteran;
  • A democratic organization where all members have a voice and are encouraged to participate and contribute;
  • Eligibility to hold a leadership position not based on length of membership in the association;
  • A potentially large membership that will help secure full-service hotels for reunions in major cities and
  • The vision of carrying the organization far into the future for our heirs to enjoy.

           In order for this organization to be successful, everyone will need to be involved. If you are reading this link we hope you will be moved to tell at least one of your friends about this new organization. Two friends would be above and beyond the call of duty. Besides, after you become a member you can sponsor all your buddies and when they attend reunions each and every year you will earn a $5.00 credit for each one of your friends who attend. After 2009 everybody that you sponsor will earn you another $5.00 credit for your reunion expenses. So what are you waiting for? "Tell a friend."
