& Shipmates is the only known reunion organization that raffles off
all the FREE night stays at reunions. They are earned by the membership
for
staying at the hotel. This year Squadrons & Shipmates earned 6 FREE
night stays and each of the winners saved the cost of a one night's
lodging.
The Flerlages each won a FREE night stay.
2011 Reunion in San Diego
Throughout the reunion we had the opportunity to purchase raffle
tickets to win free night stays at the Crowne Plaza Hotel for only
$1.00 per chance. $5.00 will get you 6 chances, $10.00 will get you 16
chances or an arm's length of the person with the longest arm in the
group. The number of free nights available will depend on the number of
rooms sold for the reunion. We have contracted for one free night for
every 50 nights sold. As we have said many times, this is going to be a
very unique organization and the gratis nights will be raffled off to
the membership and not just given away to be used by the planning
committee or reunion leadership. For example, if 100 rooms are sold at
the hotel and each room is rented for 5 nights, 10 free nights will be
raffled off at the Saturday Night Banquet.
Members can win more than one free night if they are very lucky.
This is an excellent fund raiser for the organization and we hope you
all will be generous. Naturally, the more chances you have in the
hopper, the more times you can win. If you are not staying at the hotel
you should be able to sell your winning voucher to any other member who
is staying the Crowne Plaza for at least $100.00. That would save the
person buying the winning voucher taxes on a night's stay.
