Whenever possible the reunions of this organization will be held in a city with some meaning to these two ships or in a location where the Armed Forces of our nation played an important part in our history.

October 25-30, 2011 the reunion was held in San Diego to visit the Midway Museum. The museum is an extraordinary accomplishment. We know the members who served on USS Midway wanted to attend but really, once you were inside the ship, you cannot tell which sister ship you are on. Even the aroma is the same as it was years ago. All the tile on the decks has been replaced with that ugly green tile that you will never forget. Most sections of the ship have been restored to their original condition. The berthing compartments have been updated. Many of the planes are still on board that were used during the many deployments. Other side trips we enjoyed are list below (If the links do not take you directly to the web site, copy and paste them into your browser):

The membership has decided that in 2012 we will head to Branson, Missouri. Although Branson does not have a direct connection to the military, it was decided by the attendees at the Atlanta Reunion in 2010, that Branson is a favorite city among veterans as they are very military friendly.

It is our plan not to return to the same venue twice unless the membership votes otherwise. Numerous sightseeing opportunities will be offered in each city and members will be able to choose the venues they wish to visit. Other suggestions for reunion sites after 2012 are Civil War Battlefields (trying to schedule it at a time when they are having reenactments). Pearl Harbor is also a favorite if the membership is up to it. Cruises following the reunions are also being considered. Any of your thoughts about venues would be greatly appreciated.
