CyberPatriot is a competition that tests the ability of the students to defend a simulated corporate network from external hostile attacks. But, it is far more than just a competition. It is designed to educate and motivate your cadets to become the cyber defenders the nation needs while promoting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
Civil Air Patrol's next generation of cyber defenders will compete with each service's JROTC teams and other CAP teams in 3 qualifying rounds this fall to vie for one of the coveted slots to travel to the Finals in National Harbor, Maryland March 14-15, 2013.
1. Each cadet team will need a senior member to act as a coach. This individual does not need to be a computer expert.
2. Teams will consist of up to five primary competitors and up to five alternates. Participants must be current cadets enrolled in ninth through twelfth grade during the 2012-13 school year. The participating cadets need to be computer literate, but no special skills are required.
3. Squadrons will need to register their interest by 6 October.
Prospective coaches (Project Officers assigned by their unit commander) should sign up now, but no later than 6 October.
Go to the AFA's registration site to register your unit.
